Our Philosophy

Slow travel,
deeply considered

The Meridian was born from a simple belief: that the best hotels don't just house you — they attune you to a place. Our twelve rooms are each keyed to a different rhythm of the Pacific Northwest — the hush of an old-growth forest, the energy of a Saturday morning at the Farmers Market, the quiet satisfaction of a well-made cup of coffee.

We're a 1920s warehouse reimagined with local artisans, sustainably sourced materials, and the kind of attention to detail that makes you pause. No elevators — just a grand staircase and the occasional creak of original hardwood. No chain-scented soap — just lavender and pine from the Columbia River Gorge.

Dining

Hearth & Grain
our restaurant

Chef Elena Vasquez sources from within a 90-mile radius — Hood River peaches in summer, Tillamook cheeses year-round, and whatever the Saturday market at Pioneer Courthouse Square has to offer. The menu changes seasonally, but the philosophy doesn't: honest ingredients, careful technique, and plates that feel like a conversation.

Dinner is served Tuesday through Sunday, 5:30–10pm. Breakfast is available for guests daily from 7–10am. The bar features a rotating selection of Oregon craft cocktails and a curated wine list heavy on Willamette Valley pinot noir.

Location

The Pearl District

We're at 412 NW 10th Avenue — a five-minute walk from Powell's Books, two blocks from the Saturday Farmers Market, and a short ride on the streetcar to the waterfront. The Pearl was once a warehouse district; now it's Portland's most walkable neighborhood, packed with galleries, restaurants, and the kind of independent shops that make this city worth visiting.
