CASE STUDY
Rebranding
WildBloom
A vibrant identity for a modern plant delivery service connecting city dwellers with nature.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
WildBloom needed a brand refresh to move from a small local shop to a national e-commerce plant delivery service. The goal was to create a memorable, fresh, and trustworthy identity that resonates with a younger, urban audience.
ROLE
Lead Designer. Responsible for brand strategy, visual identity, logo design, color palette, typography, iconography, and web design.
TIMELINE
8 weeks, from initial research to final handoff.
The Challenge
WildBloom's existing branding felt outdated and too "corporate" for a company whose mission is to bring joy and nature into people's homes. They were struggling to stand out in a crowded market of online plant retailers. Customer surveys revealed that while people loved the product quality, the brand itself felt "boring" and "uninspired."
"We want to feel like the cool, approachable plant friends, not the sterile garden center."
- Sarah Chen, Founder & CEO, WildBloom
The Process
1. Discovery & Research
We started with competitor analysis and user interviews. A key insight was that customers connected emotionally with the experience of receiving plants, not just the plants themselves. This led us to focus on the feeling of "unboxing joy."
2. Concept Development
We explored various directions, from minimalist to maximalist. The winning concept, "Bloom Theory," used a dynamic, organic logo and a vibrant, earthy color palette. The circular logo mark represents a seed, a pot, and a blooming flower all at once.
3. Design System
We created a comprehensive system including a custom wordmark, secondary typography (GT Walsheim and Sofi Pro), a set of hand-drawn icons, and a photography style that is bright, warm, and full of life. The color palette avoids typical "green" clichés, opting for a rich terracotta and warm mustard.
WildBloom
The Solution
A lively, cohesive brand identity that feels both premium and approachable. The new look was applied across packaging, marketing materials, and a fully redesigned website.
